The Instructional Design and Technology track in the Education PhD program prepares students for teaching and research in the field of instructional design and technology, instructional systems, educational technology, and e-learning in professions such as university professor, corporate directors of training and human resources, and corporate researchers.
The focus is on the design of conventional in-class, online and hybrid training and educational programs, and the application of appropriate instructional technologies to facilitate adult learner. The Instructional Design and Technology track in the Education PhD program requires a minimum of 60 credit hours beyond the master's degree. Students must complete 24 credit hours of core courses, 9 credit hours of specialization courses, 9 credit hours of electives, 3 credit hours of internship, and 15 credit hours of dissertation. All students must also complete the candidacy examination.
