If you already hold a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a non-education field, this master&rsquo;s in teaching degree offers a direct pathway into teaching through a state-approved teacher certification program.</span></p>\r\n<p><span>As you move through this graduate teacher education program, you&rsquo;ll learn from expert faculty with real-world experience in grades 6 &ndash;12 classrooms as you build essential knowledge and skills in classroom management, student assessment, and effective instructional strategies for various learners, including English language learners. You&rsquo;ll also develop subject-matter expertise by choosing a specialization in core areas of secondary education, such as mathematics, art, science or, English language arts &mdash; strengthening your preparation for teaching opportunities.</span></p>\r\n<p><span>A defining feature of this MAT degree is the two-semester internship, where you&rsquo;ll gain sustained, real-world teaching experience. You&rsquo;ll work alongside experienced mentor teachers, receive continuous feedback and gradually take on full classroom responsibility. This extended internship also allows you to develop strong professional connections.</span></p>\r\n<p><span>By successfully completing this state-approved initial teacher preparation program &mdash; including a two-semester internship with an on-the-job option, professional portfolio and passing scores on the Florida Teacher Certification Examination &mdash; you&rsquo;ll meet Florida certification requirements and graduate ready to lead your own classroom.</span></p>\r\n<p><span>This program prepares students for state-regulated professional licensure or certification. Through a blend of studio practice, teaching pedagogy and hands-on field experiences, you&rsquo;ll develop the skills to foster creativity and bring meaningful artistic experiences into your classroom.</li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p><!--[endif]--><strong><span>English Language Arts Education with ESOL and Reading Endorsement: </span></strong><span>The </span><a href=\"https://www.ucf.edu/online/degree/english-language-arts-education-mat/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>fully online English Language Arts Education (ELA) track</span></a><span> prepares you for certification to teach ELA in grades 6-12. With guidance from expert faculty, you&rsquo;ll earn ESOL and Reading endorsements, develop evidence-based literacy instruction skills, and gain real-world experience through applied practice.
