"description": "<p>The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs build upon the student's baccalaureate nursing education and professional experience. The Master of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).</p> <p><strong>Program Objectives</strong></p> <p>The program prepares students to:</p> <ul> <li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"> <ul> <li>Translate evidence from nursing science and other disciplines into professional nursing practice to improve outcomes.</li> <li>Utilize clinical judgement to design initiatives that improve health, healthcare quality, and safety.</li> <li>Engage in collaborative interprofessional partnerships that optimize care coordination and delivery across professional practice settings.</li> <li>Evaluate data from technologies to improve outcomes.</li> <li>Develop a professional identity that reflects nursing values and ethics.</li> <li>Promote advocacy for the profession and all patients.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>The Leadership and Management track of the MSN is designed to equip nurses with the managerial and leadership skills necessary to become administrative leaders in the health care industry. The program requires 36 credit hours of coursework and includes two leadership clinical practicum experiences and clinical hours within Organizational Dynamics to total 500 clinical hours.</p> <p><strong>Total Credit Hours Required: 36 Credit Hours Minimum beyond the Bachelor's Degree</strong></p><p><strong>Please note: </strong><a href=\"https://www.ucf.edu/online/degree/nursing-m-s-n/\">Nursing (MSN) - Leadership and Management may be completed fully online</a>; however, not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees.</p> <p><b>NOTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Please contact the College of Nursing at <a href=\"http://ucf.edu/\">gradnurse@ucf.edu </a>or 407-823-2744 prior to applying to this online program.</b></p> <p>International students (F or J visa) are required to enroll in a full-time course load of 9 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
