"description": "
The Online Master of Social Work (MSW) Part-Time Advanced Standing Track is a lock step cohort program offered completely online. It allows students with baccalaureate degrees in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited school/program who demonstrate academic potential and professional maturity to complete the MSW degree in four semesters of graduate study.

To be considered for advanced standing admission, applicants must have completed the Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program within six years of initial enrollment in the master's program with a minimum GPA of 3.3 in the last 60 credit hours of coursework and no more than one C grade in their BSW coursework.

Students who apply for admission to the fully online, part-time advanced standing MSW track will not be permitted to switch

to the campus-based MSW track due to the strict cohort model followed by the online track.

This track is completed entirely online and charges an enhanced tuition rate. As such, Online MSW students are not permitted to simultaneously enroll in any graduate or certificate programs through UCF, aside from the Military Social Work Graduate Certificate Track. Please visit UCF Online for additional

information about tuition and fees.

The 32-hour MSW program is composed of 18 credit hours of required core and advanced clinical specialization courses. In addition, students complete 6 credit hours of electives and 8 credit hours of field experience. Independent learning is demonstrated throughout the curriculum through the process of inquiry and dialogue. Projects such as research studies, clinical assessments and treatment plans, papers and internships also contribute to the self-development of our students.

The MSW program is designed to prepare students to become successful practitioners in the field of clinical social work. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics is upheld and reinforced throughout the academic curriculum. Violations of the NASW Code of Ethics may result in academic sanctions or dismissal from the program.

Total Credit Hours Required: 32 Credit Hours Minimum beyond the Bachelor's Degree

Please note: Social Work (MSW) may be completed fully online, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees.

International students (F or J visa) are required to enroll in a full-time course load of 9 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. Only 3 of the 9 credit hours may be taken in a completely online format.
