The program offers innovative courses from other departments, such as Music, History, English, Sociology, and many others, about African Americans and Blacks in the African Diaspora, taught using a variety of teaching styles. The courses enable students to analyze and understand various subjects critically, ranging from exploring different intellectual perspectives and historical experiences to creativity in the arts, as well as examining Blackness and themes of social justice in other parts of the Diaspora. The minor in Africana Studies equips students with the analytical tools to comprehend both the shared and unique experiences of African-descended peoples throughout the Diaspora, thereby preparing them for careers in diverse environments, graduate studies, and other professional fields.

Minor Admission Requirements

None

Minor Requirements

None

Prerequisite Courses

None

",
