    "description": "<p>The Journalism Studies minor is well suited for students who seek to better understand the role journalism plays in society as well as the forces that shape journalism. A key component of this minor is media literacy, which is the ability to thoughtfully analyze messages disseminated through the news media.</p> <h4>Minor Requirements</h4> <ul> <li>A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in all courses used to satisfy minor.</li> <li>Grades below a &quot;C&quot; (2.0) are not accepted in the minor.</li> <li>At least 12 hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the Nicholson School of Communication and Media.</li> </ul> <h4>Prerequisite Courses</h4> <ul> <li>Students must satisfy each course's prerequisites before enrolling in the class.</li> </ul>",
