"description": "<p><strong><em>Open</em></strong><em> <strong>to</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Business</strong> <strong>students</strong> <strong>majoring</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Accounting</strong>, <strong>Economics</strong>, <strong>and</strong> <strong>Finance</strong></em>. <strong><em>Open</em></strong> <strong><em>to</em></strong><em> <strong>non</strong>-<strong>business</strong> <strong>students</strong> <strong>majoring</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong></em> <strong><em>College</em></strong><em> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Engineering</strong> and <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Science, B.S. in Data Science,</strong></em><strong><em> or </em></strong><strong>non-business majors meeting minor admission requirements.</strong></p><p>Program participants will acquire competence in computer programming skills for use in data analytics and specific knowledge of FinTech to meet the growing demands for such services.</p><p><strong>Minor Admission Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>A “B” or better in FIN 3403 and department consent is required to declare the Fintech Minor</li> <li>Non-business majors admitted to the Fintech minor will follow the CECS Fintech minor course requirements </li> <li> Approved non-business majors interested in the Fintech minor must: <ol> <li>Submit a registration issue form to <a href=\"mailto:cbaforms@ucf.edu\">cbaforms@ucf.edu</a> to request enrollment into an open section of FIN 3403 (if unable to register for the course on their own)</li> <li>Once FIN 3403 is completed with a B or better, a request to declare the Fintech program may be submitted through Dr. Pirinsky (Timely Academic Progress will be evaluated prior to final approval)</li> </ol> </li> </ul><p><strong>Minor Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>None</li> </ul><h2>Degree Requirements</h2><h3>Required Courses</h3> 9 Total Credits <ul><li>Complete all of the following<ul><li>Complete at least 1 of the following: <ul><li>COP3223C - Introduction to Programming with C (3)</li><li>EGN3211 - Engineering Analysis and Computation (3)</li></ul></li><li>Complete the following: <ul><li>COP3502C - Computer Science I (3)</li><li>FIN3403 - Business Finance (3)</li></ul></li><li>Prerequisites for FIN 3403 are waived for College of Engineering & Computer Science students and Data Science, B.S. majors. </li><li>Only one of either COP 3223C or EGN 3211 is required</li></ul></li></ul><h4>Grand Total Credits: <strong>9</strong></h4><h4>Required Electives (9 hrs for Business Administration students). The student must provide a course syllabus and any other supporting information with his/her petition for this evaluation.</li> <li>At least nine hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the department.</li> <li>No credit by exam (TSD, Military credit) may be used.</li> <li>Internship or Directed Research credit cannot be used toward the minor.</li> <li>A maximum of 6 hours of the above listed required or elective courses can count toward another major or minor degree program.</li> <li>The College of Business does not permit any course used towards the minor or those used to meet admission requirements for the minor to be taken on an elective S/U grading basis.</li> </ul>",
