    "description": "<p>The School of Global Health Management and Informatics offers a Professional Master of Science in Health Care Informatics (MSHCI), designed to prepare students for high demand roles at the intersection of healthcare, data and technology. This program equips students with a strong foundation in the clinical, management and business aspects of health informatics, ensuring graduates are well positioned to improve health care systems and outcomes.</p><p>Delivered fully online in a cohort-based format, the MSHCI program offers flexibility and accessibility for working professionals, Students’ progress through the curriculum together in a prescribed sequence, completing coursework in key areas such as health care database management, systems analysis and design, and privacy and security. The program culminates in a Capstone course and a required internship during the final semester, providing valuable hands-on experience.</p><p>The program welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, including health care professionals, recent graduates in health-related fields, and individuals seeking to transition into the health care industry. Admissions are offered twice per year for fall and spring terms.</p><p>Please note that the program is offered at an enhanced tuition rate, and tuition waivers (including those for state and UCF employees) do not apply.</p><p>While completion of the MSHCI program does not qualify graduates to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification exams, graduate with relevant professional experience may be eligible to pursue the Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) credential.</p><p>The MSHCI program provides a comprehensive, practical, and career-focused pathway for those looking to advance or enter the rapidly evolving field of healthcare informatics.</p><p><strong>Total Credit Hours Required: 38 Credit Hours Minimum beyond the Bachelor's Degree</strong></p><p><strong>Please note:</strong> <a href=\"https://www.ucf.edu/online/degree/health-care-informatics-p-s-m/\" target=\"_blank\">Professional Master of Science in Health Care Informatics may be completed fully online</a>, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees.</p><p>International students (F or J visa) are required to enroll in a full-time course load of 9 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. Only 3 of the 9 credit hours may be taken in a completely online format.
