    "description": "<p>The Minor in Writing and Rhetoric will provide students with the in-depth study and practice of writing and rhetoric. The curriculum emphasizes civic, professional, and digital writing.</p><p>The Writing and Rhetoric Minor may be completed fully online, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees.</p><h2>Transfer Notes</h2><ul> <li>Courses transferred from private and out-of-state schools must be evaluated for equivalency credit. Students must provide all supporting information.</li> </ul><h2>Minor Requirements</h2><ul> <li>Students should work with department to select courses that support the students' intended career or post-graduation path.</li> <li>Students cannot earn both the Minor in Writing and Rhetoric and the Certificate in Public and Professional Writing.</li> </ul><h2>Prerequisite Courses</h2><ul> <li>None</li> </ul><p><a href=\"https://www.ucf.edu/online/\">Online Writing and Rhetoric Minor</a></p><h2>Degree Requirements</h2><h3>Core Course</h3> 3 Total Credits <ul><li>Complete all of the following<ul><li>Students should take this core course as early in the program as possible.</li><li>Complete the following: <ul><li>ENC3314 - Writing and Rhetoric Foundations (3)</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul><h3>Advanced Core</h3> 3 Total Credits <ul><li>Complete at least 1 of the following: <ul><li>ENC3330 - Rhetorical Traditions (3)</li><li>ENC4416 - Writing in Digital Environments (3)</li><li>LIN3673 - Rhetorical Grammar (3)</li></ul></li></ul><h3>Electives</h3> 12 Total Credits <ul><li>Earn at least 12 credits from the following types of courses: Any 3000 or 4000 level courses offered by the Department of Writing and Rhetoric not otherwise used to satisfy minor requirements.</li></ul><h4>Grand Total Credits: <strong>18</strong></h4><p><strong>Other Requirements</strong>:</p><ul> <li>Students must earn a minimum 2.5 GPA in coursework used to satisfy the minor.</li> <li>A grade of \"C\" (2.0) or better is required in each course used to satisfy the minor.</li> <li>At least 12 hours used to satisfy the minor must be taken from the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at UCF.</li> <li>No more than 6 hours of overlap allowed between programs when multiple Writing and Rhetoric programs are declared.</li> </ul>",
