Current trends in education and employment show a growing need for medical anthropology knowledge and expertise in a variety of national and international career directions. This Minor prepares students for work in health professions, including medicine, global health, nursing, and social work, as well as future graduate studies.</p><h2>Minor Requirements</h2><ul> <li>Minimum credit hours required: 18 credit hours.</li> <li>Students must earn a grade of \"C\" (2.0) or better in all courses used to satisfy the minor. Students may make a request to the Undergraduate Coordinator to be granted the use of one C- toward the major requirements.</li> <li>At least 15 hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF.</li> <li>Only two anthropology courses can overlap for students enrolled in multiple anthropology programs (minors or certificates). (Note: The myKnight Audit cannot capture overlapping courses between two or more programs; therefore, students should have their program reviewed by the department before filing for graduation.)</li> <li>Internship, Cooperative Education (Co-op), or Independent Study credit may be used toward the minor only with prior approval from the Medical Anthropology Minor advisor.</li> <li>One substitution for a Restricted Elective Course with another relevant course will be allowed with prior approval from the Medical Anthropology Minor advisor. ANT 4802 Ethnographic Research and Field Methods may only be used as a restricted elective if the ethnographic project topic focuses on Medical Anthropology.
